Dan Dimmock is a corporate, cultural, and institutional brand architect, fractional CBO, impact strategist, advisor, and educator.

Best known for his work as a consultant, Dan has built a career helping leaders improve self-awareness and empower organisational change by translating ideals into purpose-driven brand strategies, identity systems, and experiences.

In 2015 Dan founded Firstwater Advisory, a specialist consultancy focused on developing purpose-driven, sustainable brands in underserved markets. Before establishing Firstwater, Dan led teams for two of the world’s leading brand consultancies, including Fitch (now Landor & Fitch (WPP)) and Futurebrand (IPG), where he held regional leadership positions.

As a brand consultant, Dan has headed engagements for many organisations around the world, including Action for Children, Arla Foods, Bank of Shanghai, The British Council, Emirates Group, Government of Malaysia, Lendlease, Marriott International, Meem Bank (PIF), National Bank of Abu Dhabi (NBAD), PETRONAS, Qatar Foundation, Royal Kingdom of Bhutan, Government of Saudi Arabia, Sheikh Suroor Al Nahyan, Singapore Armed Forces, Singapore PMO, Singapore Police Force, UAE PMO, UNDP, United Overseas Bank (UOB), and ZMZM Society for Voluntary Healthcare.

Regularly commenting on issues shaping businesses and brands, Dan’s perspectives have been featured in Arabian Business, Branding Strategy Insider, CNN, Fast Company, The Financial Times, and The New York Times. He is an outside lecturer at the American University in Dubai, Middlesex University’s Institute for Sustainable Development, Strathclyde Business School, and other forums. He also serves as a subject-matter expert to business accelerator programmes across the MENA region and advisor to impact-driven startups, including Mamo, a bold and inclusive FinTech company based in the UAE.
