We are excited to announce the top 20 social entrepreneurs that have been selected from a large pool of applicants to participate in this year’s edition of the C3 Social Impact Accelerator Program. All of our finalists are contributing to the UN Sustainable Development Goals such as Good Health & WellBeing, Quality Education, Gender Equality and Clean Water and Sanitation. We look forward to working with them in the coming months on accelerating their growth and impact!
Almentor (UAE) – An online video marketplace for e-learning and professional people development throughout the Middle East and Africa offering video courses and motivational/informative talks in Arabic and English.
Bekia (Egypt) – An online platform exchanging inorganic home waste (cans, plastics, food oil, metal, etc.) with essential goods and services (food, metro tickets, school supplies, medicines, etc.).
BioEnergy (Egypt) – A pioneering company providing one-source service to optimize the use of Alternative Fuels and Raw Materials (AFR) in energy-intensive industries, in particular producing and supplying Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF) to the cement industry.
Chefaa (Egypt) – A mobile app that allows patients to order and schedule medicines safely: it provides the easiest user trip to order/schedule medicine in 3 clicks and a real-time
search engine to locate difficult to find medicines.
Companies for Good (UAE) – A company organizing fun, engaging team building and CSR activities for businesses to help them do good and boost employee engagement: C4G aims to create a world where companies operate in a responsible and sustainable manner as a standard way of doing business.
Desert Control (UAE) –A company raising crops in the desert through a patented liquid nano-clay (LNC) technology that binds dry sandy land to hold water thus increasing the fertility of the soil. Health at Hand [https://www.myhealthathand.com/] (UAE) – A patient to doctor video consultation platform, connecting patients with highly qualified doctors within minutes and with a vision to democratize quality healthcare for all.
Healthigo (UAE) – A platform in the healthcare industry and the first of its kind to connect patients and care seekers to all stakeholders in the patient’s journey from doctors, healthcare providers, and pharmacies, to health and wellness centers, and insurance providers.
HydroWind (UAE) – A technology provider that combines the power of altitude wind, reverse osmosis membranes and subsea pressure to desalinate seawater into freshwater in large volumes and at a lower cost compared to current market options.
Innotech (Oman) – A multi-stage electronic game and app aimed at helping kids discover and learn how electronics and electrical circuits work in various ways. The company started with a single product, the InnoBox toy, and later launched other products and services including 3D printing, virtual and augmented reality, school courses and the InnoBox game on Android and iOS.
Kiliim (Egypt) – A lifestyle brand that aims to revive and sustain the local craft of handmade kilim making in Egypt by introducing modern designs to a time-honored technique: kilims (using finest quality wool yarn & dyes) are manufactured in Fowwa, a small village, by artisan craftsmen who consider the craft as part of their heritage.
Mums@Work (UAE) – A platform providing professional women, who are also mothers, with flexible working opportunities to develop and build their careers while balancing family life commitments. Through education, recruitment and multiple job readiness services and programs, it engages a community of tens of thousands of professional women.
Munchbox (UAE) –A company developing, producing, and distributing innovative healthy snacks to more than 700 outlets across the UAE, Oman, Kuwait, and Bahrain with catering options for corporate clients. With obesity rates in the GCC being some of the highest in the world, the company’s aim is to be a catalyst in minimizing dietary related health issues by providing healthier options.
myU (Kuwait) – An app that simplifies and organizes school communication by helping educators manage their classes & connect with students in an environment that maximizes efficiency, time and effort. Through the app, more than 4K schools across MENA have access to more efficient school communication, interactive and enhanced learning experiences.
NabtaHealth (UAE) – A hybrid healthcare platform that, using data insights and digital technology, provides women with a wide range of healthcare services, including clinical advice, health recommendations, personalized data insights, fertility monitors and pre- and post-natal care.
Nafham (Egypt) – A free online K-12 crowdsourced educational platform linked to the mandated public education curriculum, offering verified short videos (maximum 20 mins) to make it easier for students to understand complex topics.
Oliv (UAE) – An online platform to address the urgent and growing social challenge of youth unemployment by helping young people kickstart their careers and to help employers connect with the best entry-level talent and build their talent pipelines and tomorrow’s leaders.
One Good Thing (UAE) – An online platform sourcing high-quality products from social enterprises around the globe: the product offering is targeting customers who wish to gain easy access to unique, stylish products that make a difference to people and planet. The story being each brand featured on the website invites customers to learn more about the causes they are supporting as they shop.
PraxiLabs (Egypt) – A platform that makes virtual science labs accessible, usable, and affordable for educational institutions and schools, and in turns helps decrease drop-out rates on STEM student courses by addressing the problem of restricted access, uninspired students and the need for physical lab space.
Tabeeby (Kuwait) – An Interactive health platform that offers a timely and safe connection to doctors. Patients are able to connect with a network of thousands of verified and trusted healthcare providers from different specialties thus providing an anytime, anywhere healthcare service across multiple devices.
