C3 partners with Plug and Play for a Social Impact Workshop

C3, Companies Creating Change, partnered with Plug and Play to introduce the C3 Social Impact Module to the top 6 finalist teams of Ma’an Abdu Dhabi’s Accelerator Programme which addresses Mental Wellbeing Challenges.

The session was presented by Tena Pick, C3 Head of Social Impact, who has extensively mentored social entrepreneurs on identifying their social mission and measuring their impact on the communities they serve.

"For any social entrepreneur, social impact is at the core of everything they do. This session emphasized the importance of measuring your social impact and formulating your Theory of Change, both for internal purposes, but also for approaching impact investors. Going forward, the entrepreneurs will be able to identify relevant metrics, collect them and report on them. The hopes for all social entrepreneurs to implement these principles into their operations and deepen their impact," Tena said.

The Social Impact module complements Plug and Play’s one-on-one mentorship and coaching sessions that tackle various business growth areas. Dr. Louiza Chitour, Program & Partnerships Manager at Plug and Play MENA, reported back on how insightful and informative the workshop was to the entrepreneurs in helping them amplify their positive impact.

Dominique Ghazar, MENAT Corporate Responsibility Manager at HSBC, also shared her insights during the session. She highlighted the rise of Environmental Social and Governance(ESG) considerations for investors in the region and also emphasized the importance of having social impact at the core of an enterprise’s business model to reach sustainable growth.

The entrepreneurs were also introduced to the C3 Social Impact Accelerator Program, powered by HSBC, which is running for the third consecutive year and attracting entrepreneurs from across the MENAT region. The program aims to accelerate the organisations’ business growth and amplify their social impact.

Also, during the Mental Wellbeing-focused Demo Day, C3 Co-founder, Medea Nocentini, participated in a panel discussion about the role of innovation in the space and the significant social impact of Mental Wellbeing startups.
