C3 recognised as UN Sustainable Development Goals Pioneer in the UAE

C3 has been recognized as one of five United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s) Pioneers in the UAE for its contribution to ‘Partnerships for the Goals’.

The prestigious award was received on November 26, 2017 by our co-founders Medea Nocentini and Anna- Liisa Goggs during a gala ceremony organized by the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) UAE Local Network.

The recognition as an SDG Pioneer is based on the outstanding work achieved in contributing to the UN SDGs: “We feel honored to have received this amazing recognition and humbled to see how many other organizations are contributing to the Social Development Goals set by the United Nations to solve pressing globalsocietal challenges by 2030. Thanks to all our team members, experts,entrepreneurs and mentors: we will continue making a change in the world and it won’t be possible without your support.” says Medea Nocentini.

In the words of Mr. Mahmoud El Burai, UNGC UAE Local Network and MENA Representative: “One whole Sustainable Development Goal, which really wraps together all the SDGs, is SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals. C3 have been named the UAE SDG Pioneer for Partnerships not only because of their projects’ brilliant social impact, but also for the value they put into the partnerships they develop and the social enterprises they support in the UAE. They provide opportunities for other organizations to participate in the collective action needed to achieve the goals.”

The United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) is considered the world’s largest corporate sustainability initiative responsible for encouraging and recognizing companies around the world contributing to the achievement of the SDGs. The UN Global SDGs were adopted by all 193 Member States of the United Nations in 2015, and set out ambitious targets such as ending extreme poverty, tackling inequality and protecting our planet. The 17 SDGs set a clear framework for governments, business, civil society and citizens to follow and contribute to until 2030.
